A major electrical box manufacturer located in Quebec has recently completed a make-over of their existing compressor room. They had been running with a Sullair 400 hp two stage compressor that had accumulated well over 100,000 hours of use over the last 10-12 years. The plant decided with demand growing rapidly and no real redundancy the time had come to review their options with Comairco. The Comairco team designed a system using three new Sullair 300hp two stage compressors to meet the increasing demand for production in the plant.
The (3) new compressors will be set up in a lead, lag, lag arrangement and the order will rotate on a timed basis. Being air cooled compressors the customer also purchased Sullair’s EES system (Factory Heat Recovery Package). Just one 300 hp compressor will generate approximately 610,800 btu’s/hr of free heat when running at full load that can now be captured and utilized during the winter months. The project was carried out jointly with the customer, Comairco and the local utility company to create considerable energy savings and obtain an attractive subsidy for the customer from the local utility company.
