Dryers and compressed air filtration equipment are used to reduce contaminants and avoid the problems associated with moisture and particles in a compressed air system.
Adsorption air drying is based on the molecular attraction of the water particles contained in the compressed air, when passing through an adsorbent or desiccant material. Made up of a molecular sieve, this is a very porous material that can adsorb large amounts of water vapor. The dryer consists of two columns—one drying column and one regeneration column.
The dryer is very useful for removing water particles. It lowers the temperature of the compressed air to reduce its ability to contain water vapor.
